NRL All Stars announced
The 20-man squad selected by NRL fans has been announced, with some experienced players joining the team this year.
Nathan Hindmarsh, Paul Gallen and Petero Civoniceva have all been named, bolstering the forward pack tremendously.
The side, which will face the Indigenous All Stars at Skilled Park on February 12th, also features some of the best young talent the game has to offer, with Josh Dugan selected at Fullback, Akuila Uate on the Wing, and Shaun Kenny-Dowall on the bench, all making their All Stars debuts.
The fans were asked to vote on a player from each side, with Kurt Gidley and Civoniceva both picked in the “coach’s selection” spots by Wayne Bennett.
Darren Lockyer and Benji Marshall were once again automatic selections as captains of their respective nations.
Unfortunately, Wests Tigers’ and Who’s Playing Who’s very own Gareth Ellis is in doubt for the game again this year, due to injury. It will be interesting to see who is selected to take his place in the side, should he or anyone else pull out.
