Hello and welcome to our 2013 Super Rugby preview. Super rugby starts early this year, and will take on a slightly different format as a consequence.  The reason for this is that the Australian teams need to accommodate the British and Irish Lions tour to Australia during the mid-year break.

Hello and welcome to Who’s Playing Who?’s weekly rugby blog. This week saw the start of the new Rugby Championship tournament with Argentina making their long awaited debut in a major international competition. This week’s action has taken its toll, with the Wallabies (David Pocock), Springboks (Bismarck du Plessis) and Pumas (Juan Martin Hernandez) suffering long term injuries. Welcome to Who’s Playing Who?’s weekly rugby blog. This week sees the start of something new. This week sees the launch of the Rugby Championship, which replaces the old Tri – Nations. The Pumas (Argentina) will be making their long overdue entry into a top line competition, joining the Springboks, All Blacks and Wallabies to form the toughest competition in the world. The Drawing Board – Super Rugby Final Preview

In order to complete their fairy-tale journey to the top of the Super Rugby podium, the Sharks must complete their 30,000 mile course. Whilst they have been racking up the air miles in the past few weeks, they have also collected a couple of big – name scalps along the way in the form of the defending champion Reds and the table topping Stormers.  Both victories have come during a formbook-shredding and Indian Ocean-spanning journey that not many saw coming. One final long haul trip awaits them if they are to cap their rugby odyssey with the southern hemisphere silverware with the Chiefs lying in wait in Hamilton this weekend where a new Super Rugby champion will be crowned. The Drawing Board – Semi Final review (02/08/2012)

Welcome to Who’s Playing Who?’s weekly rugby blog.  This week sees the culmination of a season of hard work for two teams. They have survived a brutal season. A season that involved a huge amount of travel, more grudge matches and a first ever break has thrown together two teams that can rightfully say they are the best in the competition. The Drawing Board (13/07/2012)

Hello and welcome to Who’s Playing Who’s weekly rugby blog. This week is the final week of action for the round robin phase of the 2012 Super Rugby season and we still have eight teams who can get into playoff spots.  The Chiefs and the Stormers are the only teams that are certain to make the playoffs, as they have won the NZ and South African conferences respectively. Both these sides will be battling for top spot in the ladder though, as they are only separated by a point at this stage.  The Brumbies, Crusaders, Bulls, Sharks, Reds and Hurricanes probably need a bonus point victory to get into the playoff spots. This week saw the return to action of Super Rugby after the first ever break in the competition.  It is still really close in the competition, with 8 or 9 teams still in the hunt for the playoff spots.
