The Punt #20

We had just the one winner last week, with David backing Australia and New Zealand at RWC. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to pull him off the bottom of the ladder. We better get a big win soon… it’s not looking pretty at the moment! Read more…

A-League Gameweek 4/EPL Gameweek 10 Megatips

Time for… MEGATIPS. We’re into the fourth weekend of the A-League now, with Perth and Brisbane the only undefeated sides remaining in the competition. Melbourne Victory are still yet to score this season, and a trip to Wellington doesn’t guarantee that this will end any time soon. Over in the EPL, Manchester United fans are still in shock after the loss to City last weekend. In London, Chelsea seem to be falling apart. With two red cards, a captain embroiled in allegations of racial abuse and a loss to QPR, they will be looking for a big improvement when they face Arsenal on Saturday. Who are we tipping across both competitions? Read on to find out. Read more…

RWC Final review

October 27, 2011 Leave a comment

Looking back at previous RWC finals, there have generally been only a few points in it and only a few tries scored, and this one was no different.  I’m sure many supporters were optimistic of a convincing attacking display from New Zealand, but that was never going to be true to history. The Australians managed to overcome the  shock of losing  stars Kurtley Beale and  Quade Cooper to injury and led their team to a 21-18 win. Berrick Barnes, who has spent most of Australia’s World Cup campaign on the bench, was the hero on the day for the Wallabies, earning the man of the match award for his outstanding display. A-League Gameweek 3/EPL Gameweek 9/RWC Finals Megatips

Time for… MEGATIPS. The A-League serves up its first ever ‘Rivalry Round’, where fierce adversaries will compete for not only the three competition points, but more importantly, bragging rights. The EPL is all about one game this weekend – the Manchester derby. Both sides are coming off wins in the Champions League, and sit 1st and 2nd on the league ladder. It’s going to be huge. Not to be outdone is the final of RWC 2011, where New Zealand will face France in a rematch of the 1987 final (also played at the same venue – weird, huh?) while the Wallabies face Wales for third place, much like they did that year as well. A big weekend of sport, so head on in and see who we’re backing! Read more…
