Dwightmare 2013: The Indecision

Over the last three years, Dwight Howard’s impending free agency has been labelled the ‘Dwightmare’ due to Howard’s public refusal to declare where he wanted to play, his desire to be loved, and his indecision to make a choice and live with it. It’s resulted in one of the most dominant and popular athletes in the NBA to be vilified across the league, leaving only burnt jerseys and hard feelings.  Dwight Howard earned the right to choose where to play where he wanted. And he wanted to be a Houston Rocket. Read more…

Miami’s Big 3 finally win their first NBA Championship together

Where do we begin?

I guess it’s about time the Final Buzzer made it‘s glorious return to WPW. After all, the NBA season has just finished in a glorious fashion. And what a season it has been. From the lockout to marquee players changing teams to LeBron James finally winning his first NBA championship, this shortened season was just as exciting as a full one! But while every aspect of the NBA season could be discussed (only 16 more weeks until the new season starts), it’s the NBA Finals that deserve a write up as only yours truly can provide! Read more…

So without further ado, let’s do it! Read more…

The Final Buzzer – NBA Finals Mega Preview (29/5/11)

May 29, 2011 1 comment

Another ridiculous round of playoff basketball and we finally arrive at the NBA Finals! 16 teams started and now only the Dallas Mavericks and the Miami Heat are still standing. These two teams are your 2011 NBA finals teams. The stars aligned (not for me though- R.I.P Phil Jackson Laker era,1999-2004, 2005-2011) and we now get a 5 year on rematch of the 2006 NBA finals. Will the result be the same? Who is currently the more unstoppable force, Dirk or LeBron? Can Dirk redeem himself from the last time they faced each other in the Finals? Read more…

The Final Buzzer – Conference Final Previews (17/5/11)

Wow. What a difference two weeks makes in the NBA! The Lakers and Celtics were tossed from the playoffs by the inform Dallas Mavericks and Miami Heat to ensure that two other teams will be in the NBA finals for the first time since 2007. Surprising doesn’t even begin to explain how the playoffs are playing out. Epic is probably more fitting. If the NBA is heading towards a lockout, then the NBA are definitely putting on a show before we get there. Now it’s time to dive into the Conference Finals previews. Read more…

The Final Buzzer– Conference Semi-Final Previews (1/5/11)

What a first round! Both the East and the West put on a show for us fans! No offense to the ANBL, but seeing Kirk Penny miss 3 pointer after 3 pointer in the finals isn’t as exciting as watching Zach Randolph collect Z-bound after Z-bound. Finally the first round is finished. We saw upsets (Grizzles and Hawks, does the Mavs win count as an upset?) we saw cracks in the armour (Lakers and Russell Westbrook’s shot selection) and the Knicks celebrating getting swept in the playoffs by picking up Chauncey Billup’s $14.2 million dollar option for next year!  Good times. Plus there are also plenty of things to look forward to as we enter the next round! Read more…
