Who's Playing Who?

Megatips time again, and time for you to get the expert’s opinions before putting your tips in. All four codes are in play again this week, with the EPL starting to hot up, the AFL kicking goals with an extra team, the NRL reliving the past in its Heritage Round, and Super Rugby starting to weed out the pretenders from the contenders. The same is happening with the WPW expert tips, as you can see below, with front-runners starting to create a gap. This week’s Matches of the Round include Liverpool vs Man City, St George Illawarra Dragons vs Canterbury Bulldogs, St Kilda vs Essendon and Stormers vs Reds.

Match of the Round Previews

EPL

Liverpool vs Man City

Man City again feature in our Match of the Round, this time they’re up against the born-again Liverpool. This could be a high scoring game, with plenty of attacking power on the pitch. Last week Liverpool lost 2-1 to West Brom, while City had a very convincing 5-0 win over Sunderland at home. With the likes of Meireles, Carroll and Suarez for Liverpool and Silva, Johnson, Tevez and Balotelli for City, defenders and goal keepers are going to have their hands full! Four of us are picking the draw, while The Phantom is confident Man City can get the job done.

St George Illawarra Dragons vs Canterbury Bulldogs

The Dragons just keep on winning. After a hiccup against the Sharks in Round 2, they’ve beaten the Warriors and Knights on the road. They know how to get the job done, and it should make this  a fantastic game, as they battle a Bulldogs outfit who also have only one loss against their name so far this year. Dean Young should be better for the run last week, while Mickey Paea is back in the starting 13 for the Dogs. Sunday afternoon, Heritage Round, SCG? You better believe it. If our tips are to be believed, the Dragons should take this one out.

St Kilda vs Essendon

An interesting clash between two of the AFL’s biggest clubs. Last week St Kilda found themselves part of another draw, while the Bombers went down in a thriller against the Swans at ANZ Stadium. This one is shaping to be another close battle, with both sides showing signs that they will be there or thereabouts in the finals series. For the Saints, Lenny Hayes is gone for the season, and Steven Baker is out with a foot injury. Essendon are pretty much at full strength, with a number of regular starters coming back into the fold. This is captain Nick Riewoldt’s 200th game, so he will be up for this one. 4 have tipped the Saints, while our rugby man David has gone with Essendon. A brave call, but it could pay off!

Super Rugby

Stormers vs Reds

This should be a great game between two very strong sides thus far this season. It’s going to be a classic case of attack v defence, with the Stormers building their platform from a very strong defensive line. The Reds on the other hand love to spread the ball and attack the line, so it’ll be interesting to see who wins out. It wont be a high scoring game, but could be quite an enjoyable game, and perhaps a sneak look at a finals game.
