NRL Round 15/AFL Round 13/Super Rugby Round 18 Megatips

Megatips is back for another week.  We’ve got players backing up from Origin in the NRL, no Collingwood in the AFL, and the final home-and-away round of the Super Rugby. All our tipsters have found some form… Are you going to tip with them this week? Continue on to see who’s been fancied this weekend.

Match of the Round Previews

NRL

Broncos vs Dragons

Matt says…”The return of the prodigal son Wayne Bennett to Brisbane again, but with Origin impacting heavily on both sides, this one becomes even more interesting. For the Dragons, Brett Morris is out, along with Origin stars Ben Creagh and Beau Scott. Ratu Peni Tagive comes in for Morris, while replacements for the other two will be named before kick-off. The Broncos are sweating on the fitness of Justin Hodges and Corey Parker, with Hodges to face a fitness test before the game, and Parker unlikely to play after picking up an injury in Origin. The game is likely to be won in the forwards here, and I think that the class of the Dragons should bring them home. With Weyman and Hunt playing well, the Dragons should have too much. In addition to that, I believe the class of Gasnier, Boyd, Nightingale, Soward and Hornby in the Dragons backline will be too much for the young Broncos side. I’m going with the away side, and it seems the rest of the experts are with me…”

AFL

St Kilda vs Geelong

The Phantom says…“Another Grand Final replay sees the Cats and St Kilda square off at the MCG. St Kilda have showed some improved form (ignoring their loss to Collingwood) as of late, while the Cats are on a role, still undefeated. Can anyone really back against them here? You’d be brave to do so…  “

Super Rugby

Bulls v Sharks

David Shipton says… “the game of the round features two heavyweight South African teams in what potentially could be a knockout game. A Waratahs and Blues victory will mean that only one of these teams can progress to the playoffs. The Sharks have made a habit of getting out of tricky situations, with the last three games featuring second half comebacks. Speaking of second half comebacks, haven’t the Bulls made a good one in the second half of the season? Six wins on the trot (including one against the Sharks) is nothing to be laughed at, and it will take a massive effort to stop them progressing. For me, the Bulls have looked the better team in pressure situations and know how to win knockout rugby. This will not be a high scoring affair and as a result the Bulls should only take this by 12 points or less.”
