The Punt #17

Last week our punters had a shocker, with some just missing out, and others a long way off a big win. While we had some huge odds on display last time around, you’ll notice everyone is taking a far more conservative approach this week… Who (if anyone) will walk away with the cash?

Ladder

(Total)(Change from last week)

1. The Phantom ($48.70) (-$10)

2. Tomo ($20.90) (-$10)

3. Adrian ($17.10) (-$10)

4. David (-$59.95) (-$10)

5. Matt (-$97.50) (-$10)

————————————-

Matt

CLT20 – Semi Final NSW Most Runs – David Warner @ $3.25 – He was on fire to get NSW to the semis, and while I don’t think he’ll repeat the 135 he smashed against the Super Kings, he will top the NSW scoring list.

&

CLT20 – Semi Final Somerset Most Runs – Craig Kieswetter @ $3.75 – Haven’t seen much of him in the tournament, but got a solid 56* in the last group game, and can hit the ball an absolute mile! One of the most dangerous Pommy batsman going around (probably only behind KP).

= $12.18

Adrian

Euro 2012 Qualifier – Czech Republic v Spain – Spain @ $1.75 – The Czech Republic don’t have a horrendous side, but I can’t see them upsetting the world cup holders in this one.

&

Euro 2012 Qualifier – Montenegro v England – England @ $1.65 – The Manchester United players alone should get the job done for the English.

&

Euro 2012 Qualifier – Serbia v Italy – Italy @ $2.90 – While Serbia are the favourites, I’m backing the Azzurri to get the job done. I just hope they get out of the stadium alive.

= $8.37

The Phantom

RWC- Quarter Final Winners- Australia & NZ @ $1.76- It was the Final everyone wanted to see (unless of course you suppout one of the other teams), but unfortunately the Wallabies-All Blacks clash will come one game earlier thanks to Australia’s upset loss at the hands of the Irish. None the less, both sides will keep up their end of the bargain and get through the quarters.

&

A-League- Melbourne Victory def Sydney FC @ $1.96- The biggest club match in Australia for quite some time, with current Socceroos Harry Kewell & Brett Emerton making their debuts for their new clubs. Its debatable who will be better for their respective side, but the Victory seem to have a stronger side overall, and should take the 3 points.

&

International Football- Australia vs Malaysia- Aus/Aus HT/FT Double @ $1.30- Obviously, the Socceroos will be red hot favourites against the world #147 Malaysian side, and in a tune up for their World Cup Qualifier against Oman on Tuesday night, they will be looking to come out early & put the game to bed

= $4.48

Tomo

RWC – (80 mins) Half/Full Time Double – Australia/Sth Africa @ $5.25 – Very good odds! That’s basically the only reason, oh and the fact that i think S.A will win

&

RWC- (80 mins) Winning Team & Margin – NZ by 16-30 @ $2.90 –  A safer bet. I don’t think the All Black’s will have too much trouble scoring on Argentina. An easy win that will put the All Blacks on track to face one of their fellow Tri-Nations rivals in the semi-finals

= $15.23

David

WRC QF Sth Africa-Australia IncExT 09/10 – Head to Head – South Africa @ $1.95 – going to put my money where my mouth is and back the Springboks. They are a great tournament side and should get up for this one.

&

WRC QF Ireland-Wales IncExT 08/10 – Head to Head – Ireland @  $1.75 – Same logic as above although Ireland are not really a great tournament side, but neither are Wales and I think that Ireland has the better side.

= $3.41
