The Punt #57

We’ve had a few weeks off, but we’re back with a slew of options this weekend. Where are the team spending their cash? Head on inside to find out.

Ladder

(Total)(Change from last week)

1. James ($312.70) (-$10)

2. Tomo ($222.10) (-$10)

3. David ($189.10) (-$10)

4. Adrian ($90.30) (+$61.90)

5. Matt ($17.40) (-$10)

————————————

Matt

nPower Championship – Leicester def Peterborough @ $1.60 – The Foxes again enter the season as one of the favourites to win promotion, and local rivals Peterborough should be no match.

&

MLB – St Louis Cardinals def Pittsburgh Pirates @ $1.68 – The Cards playoff hopes look over, but they have shown some promising late season form, and should down Pittsburgh easily.

= $2.68

Adrian

EPL Big Four – Unbeaten @ $1.50 – Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal all to either win or draw in GW1? Lock and load.

&

NRL – Bulldogs v Wests Tigers – Tigers 1-12 @ $4.40 – I think they’ll scrape home in a tight one.

= $6.60

James

NRL- Manly def Newcastle @ $1.38 – Not much to this one, the Sea Eagles will continue their roll into the finals.

&

Rugby Championship- South Africa to score first, lead at half time and win against Argentina @ $1.76- The Pumas are the new kids on the block, and whilst they undoubtedly deserve to be included in the up-scaled Tri-nations, the Springboks will have way too much class at home.

&

EPL- Arsenal def Sunderland @ $1.40- They may have lost last season’s player of the year, but an Arsenal side without RVP is still a force to be reckoned with. Giroud and Podolski will be keen to show that they can fill the hole left up front, and that spells danger for Sunderland.

&

EPL- Manchester City def Southampton @ $1.18- I know the odds are short, but there is no way that the defending champions are going to lose at home to the new kids on the block.

= $4.01

Tomo

The Rugby Championship – All Blacks vs. Australia – Team & Margin – NZ 12 & Under @ $2.60 – Rugby’s greatest rivals once again face off in game one of not only the new Rugby Championship, but the Bledisloe Cup. Conrad Smith is out for the AB’s but so is Quad Cooper for the Wallabies. I expect a close encounter, but for the All Blacks to continue their dominance over the Wallabies.

&

The Rugby Championship – All Blacks vs. Australia – Half/Full Time Double – Australia/New Zealand @ $5.50 – Like I said, I expect a close contest that the mighty All Blacks to win. However, because this game is played in Australia, I think the Wallabies will start out strong and take a lead into half time. Then the All Blacks will turn it up another notch in the last 20 minutes and score a close win at the end.

= $14.30

David

The Rugby Championship – All Blacks vs. Australia – All Blacks @ $1.45 – The All Blacks were in fine form earlier on in the year and should be good to take this one. Look out for SBW!!!

&

The Rugby Championship – Springboks v Los Pumas – Springboks @ $1.15 – South Africa should be too good on home soil against the new side in the competition.

= $1.67
