Socceroos stumble in world rankings
The Socceroos have slipped to 34th in the FIFA World Rankings, down nine places on their previous position. They are now ranked third in Asia behind Japan (23rd) and South Korea (25th).
Losses to Scotland (56th) and Jordan (78th) have hardly helped their cause.
Meanwhile on the world stage, Spain are still out in front, followed by Germany and Portugal. Argentina have powered their way into fourth place, while England have dropped two spots to fifth.
Colombia are the big winners (Falcao, anyone?), moving up 13 spots into 9th position, while Belgium and their host of stars are up 10 places into 30th.
For our New Zealand friends – the All Whites are sitting pretty in 92nd, up three places. They are now only one behind the might of Burkina Faso. Look out.
Socceroos fans – are you concerned? Or do the rankings mean nothing to you?
