Manchester United headed to Sydney
Current Premier League leaders Manchester United will be making their way to Sydney to take on an A-League All Stars team on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at ANZ Stadium.
Announced this morning, the world’s most well-supported football club will swing by Sydney as part of their 2013 pre-season tour, with the likes of Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie, Ashley Young, Shinji Kagawa, Antonio Valencia, Patrice Evra and Rio Ferdinand all set to travel.
Speaking at the announcement this morning, NSW Premier Barry O’Farrell was confident the state would receive a “five-fold” return on its investment to lure the biggest brand in world football exclusively to Sydney and ANZ Stadium.
Speaking of the venue, they have also announced this morning that they will be installing extra seating to accommodate the interest in the fixture.
“ANZ Stadium is set to raise the decibel level with extra seating being installed to cope with the enormity of the occasion, increasing capacity to 83,999 and creating a unique atmosphere worthy of the world’s biggest sporting team,” the statement read.
Tickets go on sale tomorrow (December 11) with Football Family members given first crack at securing their place.
