Transfer gossip: de Gea, Coutinho, Dzeko, Balotelli
No done deals… again?! Time to take a look at some of the rumours doing the rounds.
David de Gea could be on the outer at Manchester United, if reports in The Daily Mirror are to be believed. Joining the club at the start of the 2011-12 season for a fee believed to be in the region of £17 million from Atletico Madrid, he was seen as the long term replacement for Edwin van der Sar.
But it seems de Gea has taken the fall for the side’s inconsistent defensive performances. A move back to Spain, perhaps with Real Madrid, could be on the cards. Who would replace him at United? Stoke‘s Asmir Begovic and de Gea’s compatriot Pepe Reina have been mentioned.
