The Punt #11

David claimed himself another win last week, clearing a little bit of his debt. We’ll have to be careful, as he slowly chips away… he could be a dark horse. Everyone else was incredibly unlucky, as every other punter lost out on just the one leg! We were so close to our first prefect week… Oh well, who knows, could this be the one? Head on in to see who we’re backing.

Ladder

(Total)(Change from last week)

1. Adrian ($77.10) (-$10)

2. The Phantom (-$12.20) (-$10)

3. Tomo (-$31) (-$10)

4. Matt (-$37.50) (-$10)

4. David (-$37.50) (+$22.50)

Matt

AFL R22 Sydney-St Kilda 21/08 – Line – Sydney +9.5 @ $1.90 – The Swans really need to win this one, and playing at the SCG will be a big help, as opposed to ANZ Stadium. Saits are going alright, but if the Swans don’t win, they won’t be beat by much!

&

EFL Rd4 Nott Forst-Leicester 21/08 – Result – Leicester win @ $2.65 – My beloved Leicester have struggled to start this year, losing their last two at home, but they won’t let this local derby slip. I’m tipping a big Foxes win against the Red side of the Trent.

= $5.04

Adrian

The Block- Winner- Josh & Jenna @ $1.60- Yep. You better believe it. You can actually bet on the winners of TV shows. I want the sisters to win, but I think my money is safe here.

&

AFL Rd 22 High-Low Double- Collingwood/Port Adelaide @ $14.50- Port are struggling big time. I’ve seriously underestimated how rubbish they are the past few weeks. Not any more. Couldn’t go past those odds…

=$23.20

The Phantom

EPL – Everton vs QPR – Both teams to score @ $1.87- Everton’s defence has been far from sound this pre-season and QPR will be looking for their first goal in the top flight for quite some time. Coupled with Everton’s potent strike force of Saha, Cahill, Beckford & Arteta, there should be goals scored at both ends.

&

Bundesliga – Hannover 96 def Hertha Berlin @ $2.03- Hannover are 2 from 2 this season, whilst Hertha Berlin have just a solitary point from their opening fortnight. Hardly surprising when you consider Hannover were 4th last season, whilst Berlin are only newly promoted from the 2nd tier.

&

Tri Nations – All Blacks to beat Springboks by 3+ points @ $1.90- After blowing it last week against the Wallabies, the Springboks will be eager to avoid a winless Tri Nations series. However beating the All Blacks is probably up there with one of the toughest tasks in world sport, and I expect the Kiwis to sneak home in a close one.

= $7.21

Tomo

Investec Tri Nations – Sth Africa vs. NZ – First Points- Sth Africa Penalty Goal @ $2.85 – It worked last week. i expect the Boks to start well, but the All Blacks to finish the job despite some of the senior players being rested.

&

South Africa v New Zealand – To Score a Try-New Zealand – Sonny Bill Williams @ $2.75 – Sonny Bill starting?! Expect him to be more comfortable starting than coming off the bench and exploiting the Bok’s defense to score a try.

= $7.84

David

NRL R24 Penrith-Warriors IncExT 20/08 – Head to Head – Warriors @ $1.42 – Yea I know this is getting kinda predictable, but they are playing well and are a good bet to win this one. Why stop a good thing right?

&

TRI Sth Africa-N Zealand 21/08 – Head to Head – New Zealand @ $1.65 – All Blacks should be able to just edge this one, but not by much.

= $2.34
