The Punt #14

Our boys in New Zealand had a terrific week, cashing in big time. Tomo has cleared all his debt and is in positive territory for the first time in a while, while David is slowly yet surely chipping away at it. The Phantom is still out in front – can anyone catch him? Head on in to see who we’re backing this week.

(Total)(Change from last week)

1. The Phantom ($78.70) (-$10)

2. Adrian ($47.10) (-$10)

3. Tomo ($9) (+$60)

4. David (-$29.95) (+27.55)

5. Matt (-$67.50) (-$10)

AFL – Hawthorn vs Sydney – Sydney win @$2.65 – Pretty much take a look at The Phantom’s assessment below. The Swans were pretty good last week against St Kilda, and Hawthorn are without Buddy Franklin. Swans should win.

EFL – Leicester vs Brighton – Leicester win @$2.00 – I went with this last time and was successful, and I think my Leicester boys can do it again. They haven’t fired yet, but Jermaine Beckford is due, and as Andy King said mid-week, when they fire, someone is in for a beating!

NRL – Wests Tigers vs New Zealand Warriors – Benji Marshall to score a try @$2.25 – When the Tigers are on, Benji is most often the man to spark it, and the way he scored one last Friday tells me he can get over the line at any time. He scored last time we played the Warriors and I’m tipping him to do it again this week.

College Football – Conecticut v Iowa State – Conecticut @ $1.48 – No logic, just want to make some cash.

Cronulla U20 v SydR U20 – Roosters @ $1.65 – JT has his side firing, and I expect them to beat the Sharks.

Melbourne U20 v Bdgs U20 – Melbourne @ $1.50 – Thunderbolts should clean up.

= $3.66

The Phantom

EPL- Everton vs Wigan- Royston Drenthe to score at any time @ $6– The new recruit ignored the advice of Jose Mourinho and left Real Madrid on loan, and in his first reserves game mid week found the back of the net – he’s in fine form. (Note: bet refunded if he doesn’t play)

RWC- Wallabies vs Ireland- Kurtley Beale to score a try @ $3.60- The Wallabies flying fullback is in fine form, and will be looking to assert himself on the tournament in Australia’s first big test.

AFL- Hawthorn vs Sydney- Sydney to win by 1-39pts @ $3.20– No Buddy, no Hawks. Or, more accurately, no Buddy & Roughy, no Hawks. Without their two key forwards they almost lost to Gold Coast, and in the pressure of a semi final, the Swans experienced players will be able to get home in a tight one.

= $ 69.20

RWC – New Zealand v Japan – Winning Team & Margin – NZ 56-75 @ $2.65 – While NZ by over 75 is might tempting @ $4.75, injuries to what seems to be most of the All Blacks has once again caused a reshuffling of the NZ squad. I still think the All Blacks to win and win big. Only question now is how big?

RWC – New Zealand v Japan – Half Time Margin – NZ by 26-35 @ 3.25 – Good odds. I fully expect NZ to play well in the first half and to put away Jap early.

= $8.61

RWC Russia-USA IncExT 15/09 – Head to Head – USA $1.27 – U – S – A  U – S – A will be ringing out for this one. Don’t see them losing this one

WRC Australia-Ireland IncExT 17/09 – Head to Head – Australia @ $1.12 –  just going to call it, aus going to take this one and will probably do it with ease

= $1.42
