Western Sydney Wanderers FC revealed

The new Western Sydney A-League franchise has been unveiled – say hello to Western Sydney Wanderers FC.

The long-awaited club, officially unveiled today, will feature red, black and white as its colours, and has signed three players in Tarek Elrich, Aaron Mooy and Kwabena Appiah-Kubi.

What stood out most for me though was the kit. Designed by Nike, a first for the A-League, it looks terrific. This will help the new fans connect with the side – and sales will no doubt be great. Sure, it looks as though it was inspired by Flamengo, but is that really a bad thing?

Parramatta Stadium will host ‘some’ of the club’s games, with Centrebet Stadium and Campbelltown Stadium believed to be the other venues being considered.

I wrote about a second Sydney franchise over a year ago – you can see my thoughts from back then here.

So, what do we all think? A positive start for this new franchise? Let your thoughts be known in the comments below.
