The Drawing Board (15/6/11)

Welcome to the Drawing Board, Who’s Playing Who?’s one stop rugby shop. It’s been another important weekend in Super Rugby. A couple of draws destroyed my picks for this week, but has made the table a lot closer. The Highlanders are now out of the running, but the Waratahs are most defiantly still in this. More on that later, but first, here is the news. Read more…

Super 15 Top 6 Preview

As the season draws to a close, I thought it would be a good idea to have a look at the potential makeup of the top 6. As we know from the results of the weekend, the Reds cannot be overtaken on top of the Australian conference and therefore are the only team qualified.  For the other teams though, all is still up for grabs with another two rounds left. The Drawing Board (8/6/11)

Welcome to another installment of The Drawing Board, Who’s Playing Who?’s one stop rugby shop. The focus in now almost exclusively on Super Rugby as the European domestic scene has finished with the Top 14 final. Heading into the final two rounds of competition, there are still realistically 8 teams in line for the top 6 spots, with only the Reds having secured themselves a spot. More on that later, but to start here is the news. Read more…

The Drawing Board (1/6/11)

Welcome to another installment of The Drawing Board, Who’s Playing Who?’s one stop rugby shop. In a major scoop for us, we have managed to bribe officials and the Rugby World Cup will now be hosted by Who’s Playing Who!! Only jokes, we don’t accept bribes in rugby.  Speaking of which, it’s been another important week in the rugby world. The major European domestic leagues have wrapped up (with only France still going) whilst it was a very important week in Super Rugby. On top of that there was the last round of the Sevens going on in Edinburgh. It’s becoming an important time for World Cup hopefuls, with not a lot of rugby left to put up a case for World Cup places. Read more…

Welcome to another instalment of the Drawing Board, Who’s Playing Who?’s one stop rugby shop. Another great weekend of rugby action has been and gone with trophies up for grabs in the northern hemisphere, and Super Rugby moving to an exciting climax. If you’re reading this you probably won’t have been taken by the rapture (what a bad person you are!! :)). No worries though, I didn’t either, so we are all good.  Here are some post rapture events that may interest you. Read more…

Welcome to another instalment of the Drawing Board, Who’s Playing Who?’s one stop rugby shop. It’s been quite a weekend of upsets in super rugby this week with the Lions, Cheetahs and Chiefs surprising most pundits. It’s been an exciting week over in Europe with the semis taking place in the Aviva Premiership and Magners League and the semi final qualifiers in the Top 14. Injuries continue to be of concern with this being a World Cup year, with all team anxious to get their stars through the season OK.

The Drawing Board (11/5/11)

Welcome to the Drawing Board, Who’s Playing Who?’s one stop rugby stop. This week has been an exciting one, especially up north where a few of the major domestic European leagues finish their league phases and move into the play-offs. Things are beginning to shape up in Super Rugby as teams jostle for the top 6 positions. It’s quite congested in the middle part of the table, as shown by the fact that the mighty Cheetahs are now up to 10th on the overall standings!! Let’s get straight into the news. Read more…

The Drawing (wait for it) Board- 5/5/11

Welcome to the Drawing Board for this week. Well, I hope you enjoyed the last week of rugby as much as I did. Things are getting interesting in the Super Rugby world.  All the games have been meaningful and interesting to watch, but by my reckoning there are only 36 of the remaining 49 that will have an impact on the semi final spots. Realistically there are only about 8 teams in the running for the top 6 spots. Before we go any further with Super Rugby, let’s hit the news. Read more…

Welcome to the Drawing Board for this week. Well, I hope you enjoyed the Easter (and ANZAC) break. Hopefully you’re well refreshed from the break and are ready to get into it. Just to lighten the mood I thought you might like this: http://youtu.be/vAtVD-SnVIo . Had enough of the pies? It’s been an intriguing week of rugby, with several interesting results making a mockery of the so called experts. I won’t keep you waiting for any longer, here is some news. Read more…

The Drawing Board (20/4/11)

Welcome to another instalment of your favourite rugby blog, The Drawing Board. Hopefully you have your Easter plans sorted.  I would love to say that I will be in for a few days of watching rugby but I have to go on a camp, so that has ruled me out for the weekend. However, I still will be keeping a keen eye on the matches whenever possible. Enough of that, let’s get going on this week’s proceedings. After a couple of weeks of slightly less tries, this week contained (yes I was surprised too) 49 tries across 7 games (at an average of 7 a game, it’s kind of entertaining) Read more…
