Who's Playing Who?

It’s Friday, and that can only mean one thing… MEGATIPS! Plenty happening this weekend- two rugby league rep games + the rest of the NRL, the multi-bye weeks in the AFL are over (for now), teams are looking to grab finals spots in Super Rugby, and the EPL is heading for a dramatic close. Our tipsters have been getting a lot right over the last few weeks… I wonder how they’ll fair this weekend? But first, let’s see how they went last week.

EPL

Manchester United v Chelsea

These games don’t get much bigger, so we should be in for an absolute classic of a game between the two English heavyweights. With Arsenal’s win last week over United, the door is open for Chelsea to grab the title. If Chelsea win, and Arsenal also win, then all three sides have a chance at the premiership. United also have a dream Champions League final against Barca coming up, but with players rested in the win against Shalke, the top team will get a run here. Man U have a fantastic record at home, but Chelsea did get a win at Old Trafford last year, will be backing themselves in this one. Plenty on the line here, and everyone is backing the Red Devils.

NRL

Country v City

Sure, it’s technically not an NRL game, but it’s a big game on the rugby league calender. This year there are plenty of stars on show, and only two places in the Blues side are guaranteed- Paul Gallen and Kurt Gidley. This means that for both squads, spots are on the line. Historically City have dominated, with 65 wins. Only 17 matches have ended with a Country victory, and 2 were drawn. Country currently hold the shield though, and if our tipsters are to be believed, that is set to continue, with only The Phantom picking City.

St Kilda v Carlton

The Phantom says…”It looks like St Kilda’s off-field dramas have caught up with them. They face a tough run in the following weeks, starting with this game on Monday night. If they were to win here, that would be huge in the context of their season, but unfortunately, I can’t see it happening. Carlton’s only loss this season has come at the hands of premiers Collingwood, which isn’t too bad I’m sure you’ll agree. Oh and Chris Judd. That man is a beast.”

Stormers v Crusaders

David Shipton says… “Game of the round for sure. The Stormers are looking impressive, but they are running into a machine in the form of the mighty Crusaders. Both look like real title contenders, with both showing good form throughout the competition. The Crusaders have been more impressive on attack, but the Stormers strength is in their defence. The deciding factor will be Dan Carter. I feel that the Crusaders will miss him and they will lose by up to 12 on the weekend.”
