The Punt #6

Another unsuccessful week for our multis, which is starting to raise some eyebrows around the WPW Universe. The guys in New Zealand were relying on a Crusaders’ victory, while upsets cost the Australian-based punters dearly. It’s not all doom and gloom- Adrian and The Phantom are still in positive territory, while the others are looking a bit worse for wear… This has to be the week everything comes together!

Ladder

(Total)(Change from last week)

1. Adrian ($58) (-$10)

2. The Phantom ($37.80) (-$10)

3. David (-$50) (-$10)

3. Matt (-$50) (-$10)

3. Tomo (-$50) (-$10)

Richmond to best Gold Coast with the start (-40.5) @ $2.10 – The Gold Coast have come about some beatings over the last few weeks, and with Gary Abblett struggling with injury, I really can’t see them getting close to a young Richmond side who are in need of a big win.

&

Jason Day to win The Open Championship @ $29 – He’s been runner-up at the last two majors, and being a patriotic Australian, I’m confident that he’ll get the monkey off the back here, and conquer the Royal St George’s course.

= $60.90

Adrian

NRL- Highest Scoring Match- Canberra v Melbourne @ $6- Both these sides have points in them, especially as Canberra welcome back Josh Dugan. That being said though, I’m thinking the Storm might just blow the home side right off the field.

&

FIFA Women’s World Cup- Final- USA to beat Japan @ $2.10- They’re calling this one ‘Pearl Harbour II’ (not really, but I thought it’d be appropriate.) Both of these nations have been impressive on their way to the final. Japan knocked off tournament hosts Germany, but the US were impressive in their Quarter-Final win against Brazil. Down to 10 women, the US scored late to level the game, and won a dramatic penalty shootout. Not even the great Marta could help her side against the current World No. 1. The Yanks should win this one.

= $12.60

The Phantom

Wallabies to beat Samoa by 25.5+ points @ $2.10 – Fresh off the back of what has been the most successful Super Rugby season in 7 years, Australian Rugby is up and flying in a World Cup year, and the campaign to “Bring Back Bill” is in full swing.

&

Sydney Swans to kick more behinds than goals @ $1.72– The Swans have been disgraceful in front of goal recently, kicking 21 goals 30 behinds in the past fortnight. In what are set to be windy and wet conditions at the SCG on Sunday, I expect this trend to continue.

&

Roosters to beat South Sydney by 2+ points @ $2.15- Both sides have been horrendous recently, but the Roosters have shown signs of improvement, whilst Souths seem to be spending all their time filling up the casualty ward.

= $7.77

Tomo

MLB Baltimore-Cleveland 15/07 – Line – Cleveland -1.5 @ 2.35 – Water Polo doesn’t get enough love here on WPW…So im going to give it some…OH YEAH!

&

WWC Fnl Japan (W)-USA (W) NT 18/07 – Correct Score – USA (W) 2-1 @ 8.50 – Has anyone actually watched this event?

= $19.98

David

Warriors v Bulldogs – Winning Margin – Warriors by 7-12 @ $5.50 – The Warriors look to be hitting some form and at home they are hard to beat. If they are to win they are going to win by a decent margin.

&

British Open Winner – Winner – Rory MCILROY @ $6.00 – His farther was good enough to bet on him to win a british open by the time he was 25 ages ago, and I believe he is spot on there. Rory has shrugged off the choke and will take this one and lift me out of debt!!

= $33
