The Punt #21
No winners this week, and things aren’t looking so crash hot. Some of our punters are sticking with tried and true methods, while others are thinking outside of the box in hope of cashing in big time.

Matt
A League – Melbourne Victory v Brisbane Roar – Brisbane Win @ $2.05 – Brisbane were outstanding last week, and if Berisha and Nichols stay in form, then even the resurgent Victory won’t be able to stop them.
&
EPL – Newcastle v Everton – Newcastle Win @ $2.25 – After disposing of Stoke at the Britannia last week to move into third, the Magpies have hit some serious form. While Everton fought hard to keep Man Utd to one goal, I can’t see them taking anything away from St James Park this week, so the Toon should keep some pressure on the top two.
= $4.61
Adrian
Argentina Primera – All Boys v Independiente – All Boys @ $2.60 – Seeing as my legitimate strategy has failed me the last few weeks, I’ve decided to go out on a limb here and pick sides based on their amusing names. Let’s see if this pays off.
&
Belgium Pro League – Genk v Kortrijk – Genk @ $1.55 – Genk! Seriously though, the current Belgian champions should get the job done at home.
&
ACL Final – Jeonbuk Motors v Al Sadd – Jeonbuk Motors @ $1.40 – If they don’t win, this will be proof beyond a reasonable doubt that corruption is alive and well in football.
= $5.65
The Phantom
Four Nations- Australia def England by 11-20pts @ $3.60- Wembley hasn’t been a happy hunting ground for the Kangaroos in recent times, but the class they’ve shown in their past 2 games against NZ makes me think they’ll be too strong for the home side.
&
A-League- Adelaide United def Melbourne Heart @ $1.95- After being on the receiving end of a “Roarcelona” masterclass last week, the Reds will be looking to bounce back from the worst loss in their club’s history in front of a passionate home crowd.
&
Ryobi Cup- NSW def SA @ $1.52- After the amazing performance on Sunday against defending champions Victoria, where Daniel Smith’s 185* led the Blues to comfortably chase down 323 in 40.5 overs, NSW is further strengthened by the addition of 3 players returning from international duties- David Warner, Steve Smith & Doug Bollinger. Some handy in’s, and they should have too much class for the Redbacks.
=$10.67
Tomo
Boxing – Pacquiao v Marquez – Head to Head – Pacquiao @ $1.10 – Marquez is merely making up numbers. Introducing him is merely a formality.
&
2011 Presidents Cup – Winner – International @ $1.92 – Risky choosing Tiger Woods. Maybe if i choose the International team to win, ill reverse jinx myself and Tiger will play well. Maybe…
= $2.11
David
FNt England-Australia IncExT 06/11 – Australia @ $1.14 – yea i don’t see the Poms taking this one. The kangaroos will be too good and have too much class across the board.
&
Zimbabwe v New Zealand – Result – New Zealand @ $1.60 – not the strongest bowling attack that the black caps have put on the park, but neither is the opposition. They should be good enough to bat and get a bit lead before knocking the Zimbabweans over on the final day
=$1.82
