Needs more cheer

On Sunday night, I set off to ANZ Stadium for the annual pre-season fixture, the Charity Shield, played between the South Sydney Rabbitohs and St George Illawarra Dragons. It was a pretty alright game for a trial, with the Dragons proving to be far too strong in the end, finishing up victors 32-10.

As the sides made their way out onto the pitch, I noticed something. Lining each side of the main tunnel was a group of women, each holding what I could make out to be balls of streamers, or something similar. I was initially confused and greatly concerned. Read more…

Podcast- Summer Series Episode 8

 

The first episode for 2011! The technology is working again, so there is much to celebrate. We kick the year off with our predictions for the year ahead, preview the group stage of the Asian Cup, as well as the usual A-League Match of the Round. No Premier League this weekend, so we instead take a look at what catches our eye in the FA Cup. Also, we check back in with our Christmas presents, and see who’s recieved theirs. Souths get their man

Greg Inglis is officially heading to Redfern in 2011 and beyond, after the NRL agreed to register his contract with the foundation club.

The signing is not without a casualty however, as Souths juniour Beau Champion was released by the Rabbitohs to the Melbourne Storm on a three-year deal. Read more…

It seems like the ongoing saga revolving around one of league’s best players is nowhere near finished. Greg Inglis is currently in limbo, and is still technically a Melbourne Storm player, not yet being released from the club where he has played his entire NRL career thus far. Read more…
