Greg Inglis is officially heading to Redfern in 2011 and beyond, after the NRL agreed to register his contract with the foundation club.

The signing is not without a casualty however, as Souths juniour Beau Champion was released by the Rabbitohs to the Melbourne Storm on a three-year deal. Read more…

Radio- changes ahoy!

For my second blog post, I thought I’d try something a little different. I’m going to move away from sport for a second, so we’ll see how all this turns out.

The end of this year signaled a bit of a mix up in radio land, with numerous hosts in Sydney and around the national networks switching stations and time slots. NRL Draft?

The winds of change are blowing through the NRL. The long talked about and much hyped Independent Commission is not too far off now, and with it comes a renewed sense of hope and vigour for the future of the game. The current arrangement has been a bit of a balancing act, and it’s time for a change. With the Commission, it is hoped that fresh ideas are bought to the table to help maximise the great product that rugby league provides. This is why I propose, along with a few other changes, that we introduce a draft system into the NRL. Read more…

Piggy to Roosters

Mark “Piggy” Riddell is set to return to the NRL in 2011, signing a one year deal with the Sydney Roosters.

It was first reported that he was to be joining Wests Tigers next season, but this year’s Grand Finalists secured the services of Riddell after he left Super League champions Wigan. Read more…
