By the time you are reading this, all the World Cup squads would have been announced and we will be digesting just who has been picked and dropped, who is lucky and who is not and who should or shouldn’t be there. The Drawing Board (17/8/11)
Welcome to the Drawing Board, Who’s Playing Who?’s one stop rugby shop. Only 23 more days left until the beginning of the Rugby World Cup and everything is in full go. Whilst most down here in the southern hemisphere have been concentrating on the Tri Nations, the northern hemisphere teams have been playing a series of warm up tests against one another. I don’t think they will be too concerned with the results, but more with the way they are playing in the build up to the most important event of all. Firstly though, here is some news.

The Drawing Board (10/8/11)
Welcome to the Drawing Board, Who’s Playing Who?’s one stop rugby shop. A month yesterday (which was my birthday!!) to the Rugby World Cup and frantic last minute preparations for the teams involved are being made. Some are resting players, others are playing their top sides, and some are not even playing at all. World Cup squads need to be announced the Tuesday before the final Tri Nations match up between the All Blacks and the Wallabies, which gives them a match each to get their respective squads right. We’re only just over a month out from the start of the World Cup and it seems that everything is all go in terms of preparation for the big event. Whilst the players in the northern hemisphere are taking a break (and also the “injured” Boks!!), there are still positions to be played for in the southern hemisphere’s squads with the Tri Nations now in full swing. Welcome to the Drawing Board, Who’s Playing Who?’s one stop rugby shop. Another week goes by and so does another round of rugby action. There has been heaps of rugby going on this week in the southern hemisphere, with a couple of test matches being played and the ITM and Currie Cups powering on. Welcome to another instalment of The Drawing Board, Who’s Playing Who’s one stop rugby shop. It’s been a bit of a quite week in terms of the rugby being played, but the domestic competitions of both South Africa (Currie Cup) and New Zealand (ITM Cup) have both started up. The Wallabies have also played a test against Samoa in preparation for the Tri Nations, which I’ll be doing a short review on later. The Drawing Board- Super Rugby Season Review (13/7/11)
Welcome to the Drawing Board, Who’s Playing Who?’s one stop rugby shop. A special edition this week, I will bring you my review of this season’s Super Rugby season, with a look at how each team performed. Firstly though, congratulations to the Reds team who took out the Super Rugby title, becoming only the second Australian team (and the 5th team overall) to win a Super Rugby final in the professional era. Credit must also be given to the Crusaders, who played their part in what turned out to be an epic final, the best in a couple of years. Here is some news. Read more…

The pressure will be at its peak for both teams throughout this week. Playoff time is well and truly upon us now in the Super Rugby season, with the two semi final playoff matches being played over the weekend.
