Welcome to the Drawing Board, Who’s Playing Who?’s one stop rugby shop. Not long now until the rugby World Cup starts and already the first couple of teams have started to arrive. Fiji were the first to enter these shores, but their rugby chief will not be allowed into New Zealand due to political reasons. The English have also arrived and were greeted by a crowd of over 100 people. All teams that arrive are greeted with a traditional Maori welcome. Here is some news to get us started. Read more…

By the time you are reading this, all the World Cup squads would have been announced and we will be digesting just who has been picked and dropped, who is lucky and who is not and who should or shouldn’t be there.  There are certainly some interesting selections, some have shocked most pundits and others that you could have bet your bottom dollar on. Welcome to the Drawing Board, Who’s Playing Who?’s one stop rugby shop. Only 23 more days left until the beginning of the Rugby World Cup and everything is in full go. Whilst most down here in the southern hemisphere have been concentrating on the Tri Nations, the northern hemisphere teams have been playing a series of warm up tests against one another. Welcome to the Drawing Board, Who’s Playing Who?’s one stop rugby shop. A month yesterday (which was my birthday!!) to the Rugby World Cup and frantic last minute preparations for the teams involved are being made. Some are resting players, others are playing their top sides, and some are not even playing at all. World Cup squads need to be announced the Tuesday before the final Tri Nations match up between the All Blacks and the Wallabies, which gives them a match each to get their respective squads right. The Punt #9

We’ve had another winner, with David’s conservative approach earning a small amount of cash to bring himself away from the bottom on the ladder. Adrian is still out on top by a fair distance. The Phantom has nearly squandered his earnings, and another bad week will see him back in negative territory for the first time in many weeks. The Drawing Board (3/8/11)

We’re only just over a month out from the start of the World Cup and it seems that everything is all go in terms of preparation for the big event. The following squad has been selected to travel to Auckland to face the All Blacks at Eden Park this Saturday night. The 24-man squad will have two players added for the South African leg of the Tri Nations, who will be picked up en-route to the republic. Read more…
