NRL Round 17/AFL Round 15/Super Rugby Semi Finals Megatips
Everyone’s favourite time of the week, Megatips time! A big week of sport begins with the NRL, AFL and Super Rugby this weekend. In the NRL, Origin on Wednesday means a shortened round, with just the five games over the weekend, although with Origin players out, some interesting clashes present themselves. In the AFL, the logjam around the middle of the table remains, with only 2 wins separating 11th and 6th, and some big clashes for the sides at the top chasing leaders Geelong. In the Super Rugby, we’re in the penultimate weekend, with the teams in the inaugural final to be decided by Sunday morning. NRL Round 16/AFL Round 14/Super Rugby Semi Finals Megatips
Megatips time for this week, and what a weekend of sport we have ahead of us! With Thurston-gate now behind us in the NRL, we enter Round 16, with Origin spots for the decider and top 8 spots up for grabs in the Women in League Round. In the AFL, there is a similar congestion at the bottom of the eight, and with our Match of the Round including two sides in that logjam on 22 points it is a big round. In the Super Rugby, its finals time, and the new system gets tested out as the injury-riddled Waratahs travel to Auckland to face the Blues and the Sharks make the long trip from Durban to face the Crusaders. The Drawing Board (1/6/11)
Welcome to another installment of The Drawing Board, Who’s Playing Who?’s one stop rugby shop. In a major scoop for us, we have managed to bribe officials and the Rugby World Cup will now be hosted by Who’s Playing Who!! Only jokes, we don’t accept bribes in rugby. Speaking of which, it’s been another important week in the rugby world. The major European domestic leagues have wrapped up (with only France still going) whilst it was a very important week in Super Rugby. On top of that there was the last round of the Sevens going on in Edinburgh. Welcome to another instalment of the Drawing Board, Who’s Playing Who?’s one stop rugby shop. It’s been quite a weekend of upsets in super rugby this week with the Lions, Cheetahs and Chiefs surprising most pundits. It’s been an exciting week over in Europe with the semis taking place in the Aviva Premiership and Magners League and the semi final qualifiers in the Top 14. Injuries continue to be of concern with this being a World Cup year, with all team anxious to get their stars through the season OK.
