Who's Playing Who?

Game II of the 2012 State of Origin series is just around the corner, so just like for Game I, we’ve rounded up the entire WPW crew for their predictions for the match.

Who’s going to win Game 2 and why?

Matt: NSW by 6 – After seeing the passion and frustration in Ricky Stuart’s eyes following the Game One defeat, there is no way he will let the Blues drop this one. Farah was all class in Melbourne, and I think his combination with Pearce and Carney, which they had special video sessions on a couple of weeks ago, will be the key to beating the Maroons through the middle of the ruck. Farah to get his first Origin MOTM.

Adrian: NSW by 4 – The Blues will hit back here and send this series into a decider. With all that support from the ANZ Stadium crowd, they will lift.

James: NSW by 8 – There’s too much riding on this for the Blues to take a step backwards. After a much improved performance in Game 1, NSW were desperately unlucky to go down in controversial circumstances. The loss of Sam “Third Man In” Thaiday is a big blow to the cane toads, and I expect my boys to take this one out on their home deck and force the series to a decider.

Tomo: NSW BY 6 – Australia’s version of Bloods vs. Crips round two is back! After the controversy of game one, and the agony that Blues fans have suffered these last couple of years its hard not to take the officiating personally. But as Adrian informs me, he thinks NSW can get up for game two in the heart of Blues territory. But then again, Blues fans always say that the next game is ‘that game’ where they turn the series around. I’m going to back my WPW boss, but we shall see…

David: QLD BY 4 – I think that they will just have enough to take the series in this one, but there will only be a try in it. The Blues picked up some confidence from their loss, and will come out with all cylinders blazing. However, I think that Queensland will just have enough in the tank to hold them at bay.
