Our boys in New Zealand had a terrific week, cashing in big time. Tomo has cleared all his debt and is in positive territory for the first time in a while, while David is slowly yet surely chipping away at it. The Phantom is still out in front – can anyone catch him? Head on in to see who we’re backing this week. Read more…

Welcome to the Drawing Board, Who’s Playing Who?’s one stop rugby shop. The World Cup starts this Friday, with excitement reaching fever pitch. I’ll be doing a bit of a different Drawing Board this week and during the world cup. No News this week, but I will still do a brief ITM/Currie Cup wrap here. During the World Cup however, I will be doing a blog post almost every day to provide up to date and awesome analysis. Canterbury and Hawke’s Bay won the ITM Premiership and Championship finals respectively. This is Canterbury’s fourth consecutive title, whilst for Hawke’s Bay they earn promotion to the Premiership.  The Lions, Sharks, Cheetahs and Western Provence all enjoyed victories in the Currie Cup. Welcome to the Drawing Board, Who’s Playing Who?’s one stop rugby shop. Not long now until the rugby World Cup starts and already the first couple of teams have started to arrive. Fiji were the first to enter these shores, but their rugby chief will not be allowed into New Zealand due to political reasons. The English have also arrived and were greeted by a crowd of over 100 people. All teams that arrive are greeted with a traditional Maori welcome. Here is some news to get us started. Read more…

The Punt #11

David claimed himself another win last week, clearing a little bit of his debt. We’ll have to be careful, as he slowly chips away… he could be a dark horse. Everyone else was incredibly unlucky, as every other punter lost out on just the one leg! We were so close to our first prefect week… Oh well, who knows, could this be the one? Head on in to see who we’re backing. Read more…

Welcome to the Drawing Board, Who’s Playing Who?’s one stop rugby shop. Only 23 more days left until the beginning of the Rugby World Cup and everything is in full go. Whilst most down here in the southern hemisphere have been concentrating on the Tri Nations, the northern hemisphere teams have been playing a series of warm up tests against one another. I don’t think they will be too concerned with the results, but more with the way they are playing in the build up to the most important event of all. Firstly though, here is some news. Read more…

Welcome to the Drawing Board, Who’s Playing Who?’s one stop rugby shop. A month yesterday (which was my birthday!!) to the Rugby World Cup and frantic last minute preparations for the teams involved are being made. Some are resting players, others are playing their top sides, and some are not even playing at all. World Cup squads need to be announced the Tuesday before the final Tri Nations match up between the All Blacks and the Wallabies, which gives them a match each to get their respective squads right. Firstly though, here are some interesting Rugby World Cup stats. Read more…

The Punt #9

We’ve had another winner, with David’s conservative approach earning a small amount of cash to bring himself away from the bottom on the ladder. Adrian is still out on top by a fair distance. The Phantom has nearly squandered his earnings, and another bad week will see him back in negative territory for the first time in many weeks. After coming close to clearing his debt last week, Tomo is starting to slip again, while Matt is still without a win. Is this the week for him to win some cash? Read on to find out who he and the rest of the crew are backing. Read more…

The Drawing Board (3/8/11)

Welcome to the Drawing Board, Who’s Playing Who?’s one stop rugby shop. We’re only just over a month out from the start of the World Cup and it seems that everything is all go in terms of preparation for the big event. Whilst the players in the northern hemisphere are taking a break (and also the “injured” Boks!!), there are still positions to be played for in the southern hemisphere’s squads with the Tri Nations now in full swing. Firstly, here is the news. Read more…
